Description
Fixed Knife Cold Steel ROACH BELLY.
Historically, the Roach-Bellied knife was a short blade with a distinct upward curve and sharp point that was popular in Britain and the American colonies in the 17th century. century. It was most likely named after the common roach, which had a similarly round, curved abdomen. The Cold Steels model is a nod to the Black Powder Community, which continues to value the economy, versatility and efficiency of Roach Bellys. The hollow ground blade is made from zero-hardened German 4116 stainless steel, expertly heat treated to RC 56-57, and has a sharp edge that is easy to maintain. Instead of a traditional wooden handle, ours is made from a tough injection-molded polymer, making the Roach Belly significantly more weather-resistant than historical examples – it won’t swell, shrink, rot or crack like its wooden counterparts.
