Following the highly successful Ansø 67 Mokuti, which appeared in 2012 in a very small limited series and sold out within days, with the Thorn Mokuti (designed by Jim Burke from Mississippi, USA) we would like to present collectors with a new project that delves even deeper into the world of "Mokuti". Chad Nichols, also from Mississippi, known for the stainless Damascus we have already used on some of our Damascus knives, is one of the few smiths in the world who has mastered the production of this Damascus-like welded composite of two titanium alloys. Through a highly complex forging process, a material is created from two different titanium alloys that is not only exceptionally exclusive, but also extremely durable. From this innovative and unique material, otherwise used exclusively for high-end custom knives, Böker produces a complete frame lock knife in serial production at the Böker Manufaktur Solingen. To raise the level of sophistication and exclusivity compared to the first Mokuti model, the Thorn Mokuti offers a complete handle made from this precious material. The back spacer is also made of Mokuti and, like the standard model, the knife is designed as a titanium frame lock. The satin-finished clip adds a distinctive accent to the back of the handle. For the blade, in order to match the high standard of this exclusive collector's knife, we selected powder metallurgy CPM S35-VN as the blade steel, which sets new standards in edge retention and other properties. The finely ground blade stands out with its two-tone finish, creating a dynamic yet harmonious grind. This ensures that the intended exclusivity of this project is carried from the handle to the blade. Only 199 knives are produced in two strictly limited series, one for Europe and one for the USA, each with a corresponding coded serial number. Supplied with a certificate and in a high-quality collector's box.
