The G-10 Espada Large is an everyday carry knife. The Espada product line was designed by famous knife maker Andrew Demko and Cold Steel President Lynn C. Thompson. The Espada is inspired by the legendary Espada conquest swords. The blade is made of Japanese AUS 10A steel. This martensitic stainless steel has very good strength properties and is mainly used as a material for cutting tools. Compared to AUS 8A, it holds the blade better and is more resistant to abrasion. The steel has then been heat treated for the perfect balance between edge retention and easy re-sharpening. The DLC (Diamond Like Coating) surface treatment with a black finish, prevents easy scratching and makes the knife resistant to rusting. The handle of Espada™ knives is made of G-10 – fiberglass. The handle is strongly curved, has a coarse texture and is fitted with finger grooves for a secure and safe grip when using the knife. The entire Espada line features the unique Cold Steel® Tri-Ad Lock™ patent. The lock prevents the knife from closing automatically or unintentionally even after natural wear and tear over time.
