China has a history of social unrest that led to wars, revolutions, and other events that gave rise to some unique weapons. The Chinese sabre is exactly that kind of weapon: a cavalry sabre that is equally well suited for infantry in the field. Our Chinese sabre is hand-forged from high-carbon steel. The blade features a single fuller running ¾ of its length, is slightly curved לאורך its length, and ends in an upturned point, making it ideal for cutting and slashing without sacrificing thrusting capability. The hilt is fitted with a substantial brass disc guard, deeply engraved in a classic style. The handle has a hardwood core, is wrapped in black silk cord, and is finished with a brass ferrule and pommel. The scabbard is made of hardwood, covered in black leather, and fitted with decorative brass mounts. Although this sword is unquestionably in the Chinese sabre style, it could easily serve any steppe warrior reenactor and is especially suitable for Mongolian, Chinese, and Manchu reenactors, as well as martial artists.
