We’ve never been afraid to break with convention. That’s why, when everyone else in our industry was making the smallest, leanest, and finest little knives they could, we released a line of blades that can only be described as one thing – pocket swords! The cold steel Espada was inspired by the classic Navajo of Spanish knives, but was completely modern both in appearance and materials. These mega-knives have taken the market by storm! Our design collaboration between custom knife maker Andrew Demek and Cold Steel President Lynn C. Thompson comes in two sizes to suit the boldest of individuals! Despite their impressive size, our Espadas are expertly designed to fit comfortably and discreetly in your pocket. You’ll soon forget you’re carrying such a large and impressive blade. Equipped with the patented Demko Thumb Plate, the large and extra-large Espadas can be clipped to your pocket, opening the knife as you draw it – and open in the blink of an eye! The beautiful Espada blades are made from premium American S35VN Alloy Steel – chosen for its ability to not only get a very fine cutting edge, but hold it for an exceptionally long time. They also feature expertly polished G-10 and mirror polished 7075 Aluminum fenders and frame. Each Espada features our patented Tri-Ad locking mechanism, which has been proven to have amazing impact resistance and strength. In our own notoriously brutal product testing, the XL Espada was only able to hold 600 pounds of hanging weight, but we even used it to support a hanging engine block!
