Extrema Ratio KH SATIN 04.1000.0170 / SAT-BLK
Detailed product description
Extrema Ratio KH SATIN 04.1000.0170 / SAT-BLK
A well-established classic. The "kukri," a versatile Nepalese tool made famous by the Gurkha Regiment in the service of His British Majesty and derived from ancient Greek falcata swords, is nothing less than an advanced chopping machete. This advancement in cutting makes it possible to replicate the functionality of an axe while retaining the versatility of a long blade. Extrema Ratio, successfully combining old and modern concepts, has created several tools belonging to this category, including the KH.
The blade of this machete features a differentiated grind. Near the handle, the blade is sharpened like a razor to achieve a narrow sharpening angle without excessively affecting the thickness of the spine material, which must remain strong. The grind toward the end of the blade, however, is flat and well curved so it can penetrate wood and vegetation effortlessly.
These tools are usually made from soft steel to make them more flexible and easier to sharpen. Extrema Ratio has managed to obtain an elastic tool with decidedly long-lasting and durable sharpness by using hard steel such as BÖHLER N690. This machete comes with a black Cordura leg sheath with a storage pocket and safety strap.
KH is available in two variants: BLACK (blade with polished finish) and SATIN (satin blade).
BLADE FINISH: SATIN
