Ukrainian knifemaker Alexandr Krava admirably succeeds in combining form and function at the highest level in his designs. The designer created the eponymous slipjoint knife based on Koteyka, a virus featuring a cat as its mascot, which connoisseurs of the computer scene do not take entirely seriously. The three-dimensionally milled G10 handle scales provide an incomparable grip with a velvety ground texture extending all the way to the spine of the blade, while the stonewash-finished D2 blade lies in wait for its prey and is released only for everyday cutting tasks with the quiet purring action of the nail nick. Even without a locking mechanism, the blade is held securely by the tensioned spring. Without a clip and without a lanyard hole, but with a generous dose of mysterious elegance.
