As soon as you pick up the Microtech Dirac Delta® D/E 227-1 TA (Tan Aluminum, Black), you’ll instantly know you’re holding a bigger, more powerful version of the iconic Dirac series. This OTF automatic knife operates in D/A (Double Action) mode and features an extremely fast blade extension mechanism. The slider is located on the side of the handle, providing more natural and ergonomic control.

The model is 100% made and assembled in the USA and designed by Anthony Marfion – knifemaker and owner of Microtech Knives.

🔥 Character and philosophy

The Dirac Delta® is an enlarged version of Microtech’s first D/A OTF model with a side-mounted, recessed slider. It features a modern ergonomic handle with gently curved lines inspired by the legendary HALO® series.

The overall length of 9.25″ (235 mm) makes it an ideal compromise between a full-size tactical tool and a comfortable EDC knife. The robust construction, smooth action and distinctive symmetrical D/E blade give the Dirac Delta a strong and confident character.

🗡️ Blade – D/E Dagger

The D/E (Double Edge) Dagger blade is ground on both sides and has a pronounced center rib for added strength. There are long relief/drainage grooves on both sides that contribute to the strength of the design and distinctive appearance.

Black Finished (matt nanocomposite layer) ensures:

• high surface hardness

• low friction

• excellent corrosion resistance

• non-reflective, tactical appearance

The high flat cut provides excellent cutting properties while maintaining high penetration and strength.

The powerful blade extension and retraction mechanism requires a certain force to overcome the resistance of the spring – for safety reasons. The design allows comfortable use by both right- and left-handed users.

🔬 Steel – Böhler M390 Microclean®

The M390 Microclean® steel used is a high performance martensitic powder chrome steel:

• 20,0 % chromium (Cr)

• 1,9 % carbon (C)

• 4,0 % vanadium (V)

• hardness approx. 59-61 HRC

It is characterized by:

• extremely high wear resistance

• high corrosion resistance

• long blade retention

• minimal maintenance

• resistance to burr formation during grinding

It is comparable to CPM 20CV or CTS-204P and is manufactured by Böhler Edelstahl in Austria.
