Kansei Matsuno is known for his very slim and lightweight designs, combining elements of Japanese style with modern construction and materials. With the Böker Plus Takara, this custom knifemaker presents a much more substantial gentleman’s pocket knife that still retains elegant lines. The size of the slightly curved knife is the perfect combination of pocket-friendly dimensions and versatility. The D2 steel blade features a fine longitudinal satin finish with decorative jimping on the spine, which also serves as a thumb rest. The blade runs on ball bearings and opens with a front flipper, which is typical of this Japanese knifemaker’s designs. The blade is secured against accidental closure during use by a robust linerlock. The slightly contoured handle scales are made of Cocobolo wood and are mounted on solid stainless steel liners. The full-length backspacer is also made of stainless steel and creates an elegant contrast with the dark scales. The design is completed by a black leather lanyard and a 3D CNC-milled clip.
