The Ronin Hybrid by Andre De Villiers is a sensational tactical folding knife and a great value for what it is. With impressive S35VN stainless from Crucible, you have top-of-the-line steel and a sharp flat ground tanto blade. The squared-off jimping on the thumb ramp is unobtrusive yet highly functional and really gives this knife a solid, sure grip. The wicked blade flies open using the flipper tab and the frame lock is easy to disengage. The handles come with a convenient lock switch to keep the knife open. The handle scales are made from G10 and titanium respectively and are very ergonomic with milled patches to accentuate the grip and holes to reduce the weight.

The titanium lock has an integral lockbar insert/overtravel mechanism that provides solid lockup while being very easy to disengage. The action is very smooth, to say the least, and the jimping on the flipper tang provides excellent purchase. This may not be your typical looking knife, but get it in your hand and you’ll definitely warm up to the design thanks to all the great features it has and the fact that the action is on par with even the best flipping designs.
