It may look like a solid blade, but there’s more to it. At first glance, the Tailbone™ Fixed Blade Outdoor Knife looks like an ordinary neck knife with a paracord-wrapped handle. But it comes alive in the hand. The chain handle of the machine moves for excellent ergonomics, but remains perfectly fixed when cutting or slicing. It is highly usable and completely unexpected.

In our world, biomimicry—designs inspired by the natural world—are everywhere. TJ Schwarz of Boise, Idaho borrowed this concept when he designed a fixed blade knife handle based on the herringbone. TJ never shies away from a bold new idea. TJ has created the Tailbone™ with a simple stonewashed tip blade and handle that blows convention out of the water. The flexible handle moves vertically and conforms to your grip or chest when worn as a neck knife without allowing any horizontal play. It is wrapped in paracord for a better grip with a large finger opening and piping for control. The strong, injection-molded sheath easily attaches to a pack or quickly becomes a neck knife.
