JOSÉ LOU premium olives from Aragon, Spain

The story of the company Hijos de José Lou, as strong as the roots of the olive trees, is the story of a family tradition dedicated exclusively to the production and preservation of olives.

Its origins date back to the 1930s, when enterprising José Lou Royo, the father and grandfather of the current owners, opened a small olive shop in Zaragoza, Spain (the capital of Aragon, one of the Spanish autonomous communities). Later, he created a warehouse for the processing of black olives. Nowadays, the company Hijos de José Lou is consolidated in the field of packaging, sales and distribution of olives and vegetables.

José Lou’s products go through a careful preparation and preservation process to satisfy even the most demanding customers. They pickle olives in exceptional pickles according to traditional and modern recipes.

Although Empeltre olives of Aragon origin are still the company’s heart, nowadays, other varieties of olives such as Arbequina from the north of Spain, or Gordal or Mazanilla from southern Spain’s Andalucia complement the wide assortment, which, in addition to olives and traditional pickled vegetables and “banderillas” skewers, is not missing nor pâtés or olive marmalade.

The work of the Hijos de José Lou company is filled with the efforts of three generations who have been able to transmit and collect the family heritage, work with enthusiasm in the face of challenges that constantly arise, go with the oak and respond to the tastes of new markets and yet remain different.
