As part of the Forged By War\u00ae program, Austin McGlaun of Columbus, Georgia designed the Clever Girl\u2122. It is in keeping with his philosophy that a knife is more than a tool. It’s a psychological deterrent that’s very different from a gun – it tells the attacker very quickly that you mean business.<\/p>\n

With a black, powder-coated blade, it’s a knife that’s all about function. It’s here to protect you – whether in the field, on a mission, or in high-stress environments. Simply grip the solid G10 handle, which provides exceptional grip, and deploy by simply opening the flipper. When open, the Deadbolt\u00ae engages: steel bolts interlock with the steel blade and inserts to provide incredible strength. A prominent button is located at the pivot point for easy disconnection.<\/p>\n

About Forged By War\u00ae<\/p>\n

In 2013, Ryan Johnson of RMJ Tactical, a designer of elite, military, tactical tomahawks, approached CRKT\u00ae with the news that he had been working with several war veterans who had returned from war with varying degrees of post-traumatic stress (PTS).<\/p>\n

To help them overcome their challenges, they designed and forged steel into their own tools. Based on their experience gained in combat situations, they created the tools they wished to have available on the battlefield.<\/p>\n

CRKT\u00ae cares deeply about our returning veterans and we saw a way to give back to the community that created them. In 2016, we launched the Forged By War\u00ae program.<\/p>\n

These are mission-ready tools, designed by veterans, with a portion of the proceeds donated to the veteran’s charity of choice.<\/p>\n
