Feather construction for anything that ends up on the camp menu. When even the slightest extra weight matters, the Biwa\u2122 \/bee-wah\/ lightweight fixed blade hunting and fishing knife is the choice. Weighing just 1.6 ounces, it tucks in as stealthily as a few other dry flies, but swings when a mountain trout hits your line.<\/p>\n

Melbourne, Florida-based designer Alan Folts created the custom knife that would become the Biwa\u2122 after overcoming pressure from his minimalist hunting friends to create a hunting knife that weighed as little as possible. Biwa\u2122, named after a species of Japanese trout, hits the mark.<\/p>\n

The long distal taper on the satin finish blade is a powerful tool for cutting, closing and more. When you encounter the groove on the G10 handle, it is made in such a way that you will know where the blade is even if the entire knife sinks out of sight. The strong, injection-molded sheath easily attaches to a pack or quickly becomes a neck knife.<\/p>\n
