Extrema Ratio RAO II EXPEDITIONS Closing Knife

The Expedition Series, a new line of tools designed for professional explorers, welcomes a folding knife model, the RAO II Expeditions.

The Expedition series knives offer the same reliability and high quality as any other Extrema Ratio tactical tool provided to military special forces and law enforcement agencies. Rao II Expeditions is a tool that, thanks to its structure and despite its compactness, guarantees the same functionality and features of a much larger and more robust product.

It has a desert colored handle and case like every other model in the Expedition line. It has a BÖHLER N690 (58HRC) steel blade with a MIL-C-13924 polish and a stonewashed finish (DARK STONE finish). The Rao II Expeditions features an ergonomic scale handle with rounded top angles and a drop point blade.

It is inspired by the tanto blade RAO model used by the Italian 185° Rgt. Recognizione e Acquisizione Obiettivi “FOLGORE” (185° RAO). The new Expedition folding knife can easily be used for heavy duty work, thanks to the extremely robust locking mechanism, which is supported by a safety, making it a real solid blade.

The protective part of the Anticorodal solid aluminum handle is equipped with a threaded steel pin that can be manually screwed through two holes; this was added to guarantee 100% durability of the locking mechanism due to heavy use and impact force caused by the weight of the tool. Maximum safety is guaranteed for the user by screwing the pin into this saddle.

All models of the Expeditions series are equipped with desert-colored cases and, among various tools, a firesteel for starting fires. The RAO II Expeditions is no exception and comes with a desert Cordura pouch that is an essential part of the carrying system.

This particular case allows the knife to be carried with the blade closed by placing it in a specific front pocket or with the blade open by placing it in a dedicated compartment that has a security system consisting of a strap with double clips. In addition to firesteel, there is also a diamond sharpener. The MOLLE fastening system of the holster allows it to be worn on tactical vests and regular belts.
