After serving with the 101st Airborne Division in Iraq and as a street cop in Columbus, Georgia, he knows that a knife must function as a weapon as well as a tool. As part of the Forged By War® program, he applied his skills as a combat vet and knife maker to the development of Clever Girl™. Not to mention a new way to bring your comrades home. When you ask him about his design philosophy, he tells you that if a knife is ugly but effective, it’s not ugly. It’s perfect.

Founded in 2016, the Forged by War® program spearheaded the collaboration between CRKT and Veterans and invites true warriors to apply their knowledge and experience to design a special line of mission-ready knives and tools. In addition to receiving a commission for their designs, a portion of the profits are donated to a veterans charity. CRKT is proud to offer this specialist fundraiser to support participating charities nationally.
