Description
Spyderco Tri-Angle Sharpmaker Complete Sharpening System 204MF You’ve probably heard that “a sharp knife is safer than a dull one”. We believe this quote to be first-hand and believe it to be true. The Sharpmaker was the first Spyderco product that Spyderco produced and sold before entering the knife market. It’s true – Spyderco first made things sharp, then they made things sharp. The Tri-Angle Sharpmaker contains two sets of high-alumina ceramic stones: a pair of medium-grit (brown) stones for aggressive sharpening and a set of fine (white) stones for professional finishing. The stones are triangular for sharpening PlainEdges on the flat sides and SpyderEdges (teeth) on the corners. A furrow along the length of each stone allows you to sharpen pointed objects such as fishing rods, arrows and awls. A set of brass safety bars is included to protect the user’s hands while grinding. All components fit into a separate ABS plastic base and lid – ready to travel with you. Grooves and holes for stones are cut into the base. They precisely adjust the stone sharpening angle to 30° (15° each side) or 40° (20° each side) for knives and 12.5° scissors adjustment. Turn the base, the channel allows you to place two stones side by side (flat side up) to use as a bench. The lid snaps halfway into the base to create a handle for stability when focusing. A set of brass safety bars is included to protect the user’s hands while grinding. Ceramic stones, like glass, break when dropped – handle with care. Use them dry, without oil, water or lubricants. Cleaning: scrub the stones with a plastic wire and motorized abrasive cleaner and allow to air dry. Also autoclave safe. Made in USA.
