History of KRUDO Knives.

The company KRUDO was founded in 2006 by Louis Krudo, who had ten years of experience in the field of urban weapons and defensive tactics. As an avid designer of knives and other specialized tools, he found that traditional designs simply did not address modern threats. Instead, a radical new way of thinking was needed, so KRUDO Knives was born.

In 1997 Louis read a historical article about an Indonesian fishing and farming tool called the Karambit and that was the inspiration that started it all. He envisioned this tool becoming a highly effective tactical folding knife. After extensive projects, creating templates and sleepless nights, the prototype was ready. The feedback was swift, the design was too aggressive and may not be well received.

KRUDO thought otherwise, the feedback as “too aggressive” did not worry him. Instead, he understood that design was radical and needed its time. After almost 4 years of refinement and testing, SNAG was born, which is now the flagship of the company.

Louis Krudo is the one who started it all, is and will always be the visionary behind all the unique and custom KRUDO Knives products. Louis already had two passions as a child, martial arts and designing his own knives. These two passions created the KRUDO knives you know and see today.

Once, young Ludvík was taken by his father to see the film Five Fingers of Death, which led him to his quest to become an expert in martial arts. He started studying Judo and Shotokan, Kick Boxing, Wing Chun, Muay Thai, Okinawan Karate and Arnis at the age of 12.

Combining Ludvík’s two passions is what created KRUDO Urban Tactics. These tactics are now being used by law enforcement, military personnel and even civilians – preparing for any situation.
